Refugee Children: Two Testimonies

Recently CFE printed and distributed a Gospel comic book in the Burmese language.  Below are the life stories from a couple of refugee children who received a book.  They tell why they had to flee their country.

I am 8 years old.  I arrived in this camp in March of 2011. My father died in Burma. We were farmers, we had corn fields, but the Burmese soldiers destroyed all our fields. We had no food to eat anymore. I have 6 brothers and sisters and still have a mother. We all needed to flee Burma, because the Burmese soldiers were taking young children and did bad things to girls and women. My mother was always scared that my sisters would be taken. We traveled for three days, first we took a boat then we needed to walk for two days. I am very happy to be here. Thank you for this beautiful book.

I am 10 years old. I have two younger sisters and my parents are also in this camp. Our village was near a Burmese Army camp. There was always a lot of fighting.  My mother has suffered a lot.  She has seen many bad things happened to our people by the Burmese soldiers. Something bad happened to my mother as well. I don’t know if the Burmese soldier did something bad to her. But all of a sudden my mother was injured and was not able to walk anymore. My father said this is because of the Burmese Army, but he never told me what happened. He carried my mother on his back to this camp. My younger sisters and I walked along with my parents.  We were very afraid that we something would happen to us. But now I am happy to be in this camp. I love Jesus very much. Please, pray for my mother, since she cannot move her body anymore.  One more thing, I love to play soccer.
